Chris McElvain (Vanderbilt) notched a season-high eight strikeouts on Wednesday as he led the Rafters to a 2-0 victory over the Loggers.
McElvain got the start for Wisconsin Rapids, and threw four and one-third of an inning, allowing no runs and scattering two hits. This was his fourth appearance of the season. He has been on the mound for 12 and one-third innings, and has yet to allow a run. He has allowed seven hits and recorded 15 strikeouts.
