Jayson Newman (California State University, Northridge) was on fire Friday night, as he helped the Willmar Stingers to an 18-7 win over the Waterloo Bucks.
Newman was 4-6 on the night, with a double, three runs scored and six runs batted in, all of which are season highs. In 13 games, he is batting .362, which is third-highest in the Minnesota-Iowa pod. He has hit three doubles, five home runs and driven in a Northwoods League high 21 runs this season.
