The Kalamazoo Growlers dropped the first game on Thursday night to the Kalamazoo Mac Daddies, but bounced back in the nightcap to salvage a doubleheader split. It was a good night for the Waterloo Bucks, as their offense was rolling to the tune of 17 runs on 20 hits as they beat the Mankato MoonDogs.

Kalamazoo Mac Daddies 2 Kalamazoo Growlers 0
The Mac Daddies scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the third to top the Growlers in the first of two games. Kyle Ashworth (Cal Poly) was 2-3 at the plate, with a run scored. Vince Bianchina (Northwestern) and Ethan O’Donnell (Northwestern) both had RBIs for the Mac Daddies, while six different Mac Daddies had hits. Travis Snyder (St. Clair College) got the start for the Mac Daddies and threw four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and recording a pair of strikeouts to improve to 2-0 on the season. James Krick (Hillsdale College) threw one scoreless inning to pick up his third save of the season.

The Growlers hung four runs in the top of the fifth to salvage a doubleheader split. Carson Greene (Stanford) was 3-3 on the game, with a run scored. Ryan Marra (Brown University) was 1-3, with a home run and three RBI while Brett Barrera (Stanford) went 1-2 with two RBI and a run scored. Will Mullen (Western Michigan) picked up the win for the Growlers, throwing one and one-third of an inning, allowing no runs or hits with one strikeouts. Kyle Coates (Washington University in St. Louis) faced one batter in the bottom of the fifth, getting a flyout to end the game, earning himself a save in the process.

Logan Hylek (Davenport University) hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to score Carson Eby (Davenport University), giving the Pit Spitters a walk-off victory on Thursday night. It was one of four hits that Traverse City recorded on the night, with Eby leading the way, going 1-2 with an RBI and two runs scored. Chad Patrick (Purdue Northwest) threw a complete game for the Spitters, allowing a run on six hits with 12 strikeouts to earn his second win of the season.

Kenosha Series
K-Town Bobbers 8 Kenosha Kingfish 5
The Bobbers recovered from an early lead to beat the Kingfish on Thursday night. Jack Cavanaugh (UW-Milwaukee) was 3-4 for the Bobbers, with two doubles and a pair of runs batted in. Tucker Mitchell (State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota) was 2-4, with a double and three runs batted in while CJ Breen (Niagra University) went 2-3 with two RBI. Reagan Klawiter (Madison College) threw six innings for the Bobbers, allowing three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts to pick up his first win of the season. Sawyer Phillips (UW-La Crosse) threw the final three innings, allowing a pair of runs on one hit with three strikeouts to pick up the save.

Minnesota-Iowa Pod
Waterloo Bucks 17 Mankato MoonDogs 6
It was a good night for the Bucks, as they pounded out 20 hits to easily beat the Mankato MoonDogs. Ryan Guardino (Wofford) was 2-3, with a double and five runs batted in. Jalen Smith (UC-Davis) was a perfect 4-4, with two RBI while Peyton Williams (Iowa) had three hits, two runs scored and two RBI. Charley Hesse (NDSU) and Tyler Snep (Iowa) both had three hits and three runs batted in for Waterloo. Duncan Davitt (Iowa) threw five innings, allowing three runs on five hits with a pair of strikeouts to earn the win.

Willmar Stingers 9 St. Cloud Rox 3
The Willmar Stingers played spoiler to the Rox on Thursday, preventing them from clinching the Northwoods League Minnesota-Iowa Pod championship. Griffin Cheney (Georgia State) was 3-6 for the Stingers, with three runs batted in. Brooks Lee (Cal Poly) and Brennan McKenzie (Cal Poly) both had twohits, with McKenzie hitting a home run and scoring three. Miller picked up the win for Willmar, throwing six innings, allowing three runs on five hits with five strikeouts. Wyatt Thompson (Chapman University) had a stellar relief outing, throwing two scoreless innings, with a walk and five strikeouts of his own.

Wisconsin-Illinois Pod
Rockford Rivets 3 Green Bay Booyah 1
All four runs in the game were scored in the fifth, with the Rivets coming out on top. Jackson Dvorak (Lewis University) and Colton Klein (Carthage College) were both 2-5 for Rockford, with one RBI each. Kyle Hamilton (UW-Stout) was 2-4, with a double while Bradley Vondruska (Milwaukee Area Tech), Troy Tucci (Rockford University) and Sam Beers (Concordia University of Wisconsin) all recorded hits on the night. The Rivets used nine pitchers, with Sam Vomhof (UW-Whitewarer) throwing a scoreless inning with a pair of strikeouts to pick up the win. The save was given to Rose Thompson (Heidelberg University), who allowed a hit but no runs in two innings pitched.

Wisconsin Woodchucks 7 La Crosse Loggers 6
It came down to the wire in La Crosse on Thursday, but the Woodchucks narrowly avoided a ninth-inning collapse to escape with a 7-6 win. There were two outs in the ninth, with the game-tying run at second and the game-winning run at first base in Kyson Donahue (Arizona). Jd Schultz (UW-Stevens Point) was able to notch his third strikeout of the night to shut things down. He earned the save, while Nate Madej (South Alabama) threw two innings with four strikeouts to pick up his third win of the season. Tom Josten (Central Florida) led the Woodchucks offense, going 2-5, with two runs scored and two runs batted in.

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 9 Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 8
Hank Zeisler (Chapman University) drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 11th to bring home the winning run, giving Wisconsin Rapids an exciting win on Thursday. Andy Garriola (Old Dominion) was 3-6 for the Rafters, with two runs scored, a home run and four RBI. Jacob Hinderleider (Davidson College) was 3-6, with a double and two RBI while Richie Schiekofer (Rutgers) had a hit and two runs batted in. Billy Black (Columbia) came up big in relief, throwing five shutout innings, allowing no hits and striking out four batters to earn his second win of the season.

North Dakota Pod
Bismarck Bull Moose 5 Bismarck Larks 3
The Bull Moose were able to hold off a late Larks rally, leaving a pair of runners on to take a 5-3 win. Jayce Bailey (Boise State) started the ninth for the Larks with a walk. After Quentin Evers (University of Mary) got a flyout, Brayden Koenig (Bismarck State College) grounded out, advancing Bailey to second. He would score when Nick Henrichs (Buena Vista University) singled into left field, bringing the Larks to within two. After Leapaldt drew a walk, Brett Thompson (University of Mary) stepped up to the plate representing the go-ahead run, but flew out to second base to end the game. Jacob Wesselmann (Briar Cliff University) picked up the win for the Bull Moose, ALlowing two runs on five hits with 14 strikeouts, while Evers threw two innings to earn the save, his first of the season.
