Kenosha Kingfish 8 Kalamazoo Growlers 7 –10 innings
Henry Kusiak’s (Missouri State University) single in the 10th inning gave the Kenosha Kingfish the go-ahead run and they went on to win 8-7 against the Kalamazoo Growlers. Kusiak recorded two RBI and a walk today. Don Goodes (University of Northwestern Ohio) David Coppedge (University of Virginia) each collected four hits for the Growlers.
Kokomo Jackrabbits 17 Battle Creek Bombers 3
Mason Melton (IU-Kokomo) completed the cycle as the Kokomo Jackrabbits put up 17 runs over the Battle Creek Bombers in a 17-3 win. In five at-bats, Melton recorded five hits, five RBI, and he scored three runs. Bomber Mason Sykes (University of Toledo) collected two hits and an RBI, he walked once and scored a run.
Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 7 Green Bay Booyah 3
Ben Schoneman IV (Colorado School of Mines) threw five shutout innings as the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters defeated the Green Bay Booyah 7-3. Schoneman only allowed two hits while striking out three Booyah. Nathan Blasick (West Virginia University) recorded two RBI for Green Bay.
Traverse City Pit Spitters 10 Rockford Rivets 4
Colin Summerhill (Triton College) recorded three hits –including a triple– four RBI and scored a run in the Pit Spitters 10-4 victory over the Rockford Rivets. Seven Pit Spitters each scored at least one run. Dylan Robertson (Iowa Western Community College) collected three hits and scored two of the Rivets’ runs.
Mankato MoonDogs 2 St. Cloud Rox 1
James Shimashita’s (San Jose State University) walk-off liner to center secured the Mankato MoonDogs’ 2-1 nine-inning win against the St. Cloud Rox. Blake Reilly (Grand Canyon University) threw five shutout innings and struck out seven St. Cloud Rox. Three Rox players each collected two hits.
Willmar Stingers 9 Eau Claire Express 0
Willmar Stinger Jack Zigan (Minnesota State University, Mankato) threw six shutout innings as the Stingers defeated the Eau Claire Express 9-0. Zigan struck out 12 batters while only allowing four hits. Tanner Tweedt (Sacramento City College) doubled, homered, brought in three runs, and scored twice for the Stingers.
Waterloo Bucks 8 Rochester Honkers 5
Gabe Garcia (Air Force) recorded three hits, brought in a run, and scored twice for the Waterloo Bucks in their 8-5 win over the Rochester Honkers. Gabe Baldovino (Santa Barbara City College) and Garrett McGowan (Pittsburgh State) each brought in two RBI. Marco Castillo (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps) and Ryan Thibert (Chico State) each collected two hits for Rochester.
Minnesota Mud Puppies 12 La Crosse Loggers 4
The Minnesota MudPuppies put up seven runs in the first inning en route to a 12-4 victory over the La Crosse Loggers. In seven plate appearances, Kyle Huckstorf (Iowa Western Community College) recorded three hits -including a double- and scored two runs. Seven Loggers each collected a hit.
Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 9 Lakeshore Chinooks 6
Connor Manthey (Bradley University) hit three doubles and walked once while scoring a run and bringing in three more as the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders defeated the Lakeshore Chinooks 9-6. Six Spiders each scored at least one run. Every Chinook recorded at least one hit.
Bismarck Larks 7 Duluth Huskies 4
The Bismarck Larks scored seven runs on eight hits to defeat the Duluth Huskies 7-4. The Huskies also recorded eight hits but only collected four runs.
Madison Mallards 5 Wisconsin Woodchucks 4 –12 innings
JT Benson’s (University of Louisville) sacrifice fly in the top of the twelfth inning gave the Madison Mallards just enough offense to prevail 5-4 over the Wisconsin Woodchucks. Tyler Dean (St. Edwards) recorded two hits, walked once, and scored a run for the Mallards. Wisconsin tied the game at three in the ninth and each team scored once in the eleventh.
