Three Walk-off Wins Highlight Sunday’s Action 

Kokomo Jackrabbits 10 Kalamazoo Growlers 1

The Kokomo Jackrabbits plated eight runs in the sixth inning as they went on to defeat the Kalamazoo Growlers 10-1. Seven Jackrabbits players recorded at least one hit and scored at least one run. Stephen Cullen’s (Southeastern University) solo home run in the eighth inning provided the Growler’s lone run. 

 

Battle Creek Bombers 6 Rockford Rivets 1 

Burrell Jones (Michigan State University) threw five shutout innings in the Battle Creek Bombers’ 6-1 victory over the Rockford Rivets. Jones struck out six batters and only allowed one hit. Blake Mozley (Missouri State University) collected two hits for the Rivets. 

 

Duluth Huskies 4 Eau Claire Express 3 

Ambren Voitik (Northern Oklahoma-Enid) went 4-4 at the plate and drove in two runs as the Duluth Huskies defeated the Eau Claire Express 4-3. Blayne Robinson (Ohio State University) doubled, tripled, and scored two of the Huskies’ runs. Sam Hunt (Vanderbilt University) collected three hits and scored for Eau Claire.  

 

Green Bay Booyah 5 Lakeshore Chinooks 3 

Dayson Croes (Quincy University) recorded three hits and brought in a run in the Green Bay Booyah’s 5-3 win against the Lakeshore Chinooks. Braden Babcock (Southern Illinois) made his first appearance of the summer and recorded a six-out save. Chinook Griffin Doersching (Northern Kentucky University) doubled, tripled, hit a home run, and scored twice while also collecting two RBI.  

 

Kenosha Kingfish 10 Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 5

Every Kenosha Kingfish hitter reached base at least once in their 10-5 win over the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders. McKay Barney (Washington University) recorded five hits and brought in two runs. Aaron Chapman (Purdue-Fort Wayne) doubled, walked, brought in a run, and scored for the Dock Spiders. 

 

Waterloo Bucks 7 Minnesota Mud Puppies 1

Daniel Irisarri (Nova Southeastern) went 4-4, brought in a run, and scored once as the Waterloo Bucks defeated the Minnesota Mud Puppies 7-1. The Bucks won their fifth straight game today. Max Gamm (St. Cloud State University) collected two hits, walked once, and scored the Mud Puppies’ lone run.  

 

Madison Mallards 5 Traverse City Pit Spitters 4 –10 innings

Bryant Shellenbarer’s (Akron) fielder’s choice in the bottom of the tenth inning brought Alex Iadisernia (Elon) around to score and secured the 5-4 walk-off victory against the Traverse City Pit Spitters. The Pit Spitters scored a run in the top of the ninth to tie the game before the Mallards walked off. Traverse City’s Chris Monroe (University of Illinois at Springfield) walked, singled, and homered. 

 

Willmar Stingers 4 St. Cloud Rox 1 

Dylan Matela (Georgia State University) threw four shutout innings for the Willmar Stingers in their 4-1 win over the St. Cloud Rox. Matela didn’t allow a hit and he struck out one batter. Chris Esposito (University of Nebraska-Omaha) collected two hits and walked once for the Rox. 

 

La Crosse Loggers 10 Mankato MoonDogs 9 

The La Crosse Loggers scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure a 10-9 walk off win over the Mankato MoonDogs 10-9. JT Reed (Valley City State University) and Aiden Sweatt (University of North Florida) each brought in a run. Three MoonDogs players each recorded three hits. 

 

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 2 Wisconsin Woodchucks 1 

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk off against the Wisconsin Woodchucks 2-1. The two Rafters runs came on an error and a passed ball. The game was scoreless until the Woodchucks got on the board in the seventh. 

 

Rochester Honkers 9 Bismarck Larks 8 

The Rochester Honkers took advantage of a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning to walk off 9-8 against the Bismarck Larks. Mike Bolton Jr. (Purdue University) singled to lead off the inning and then came around to score the winning run. Brant Schaffitzel (Drury University) walked three times and scored three runs for the Larks.
