Last night the Kalamazoo Growlers became the Great Lake East champions and continued their success tonight as they defeated the Kenosha Kingfish 5-4. The St.Cloud Rox currently have a six game win streak as they earn their 24th win of the season tonight. The Mankato MoonDogs also stay hot as they win their fifth game in a row in a 12-10 victory over the Rochester Honkers. 

Battle Creek Battle Jacks 2, Rockford Rivets 1

For their second win in a row the Battle Creek Battle Jacks take the first game of the series against the Rockford Rivets 2-1. In the bottom of the eighth inning Bobby Nichols (Central Methodist University) drove a double to the third base side. Nichols scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch. Heading into the bottom of the ninth tied 1-1 the Battle Jacks scored the winning run on a wild pitch. Billy Hancock (Mount Marty College) led the offense with two hits. Garrett Martin (Middle Georgia State University) started the game throwing the seven scoreless innings with nine strikeout.

Kalamazoo Growlers 5, Kenosha Kingfish 4

The Kalamazoo Growlers stay hot to win their fifth game in a row against the Kenosha Kingfish 5-4. The Growlers struck first scoring three runs in the first inning with a two run double by Devin Obee (Duke University). Sam Kirkpatrick (Belmont) reached base four times with two hits, two walks and one RBI. Dylan Freeman (University of Montevallo) was the starting pitcher throwing the first six innings with five strikeouts giving up two hits.

Traverse City Pit Spitters 8, Wausau Woodchucks 2

The Traverse City Pit Spitters rallied back to take the first game of the series against the Wausau Woodchucks 8-2. Down by one run the Pit Spitters scored seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to take the lead. Christian Beal (University of Richmond) reached base three times with two hits, a hit by pitch, two RBI and a stolen base. Sam Tackett (Virginia Tech) went two for four with two singles, an RBI and a stolen base. Jeremy Neff (University of Richmond) started the game on the mound throwing six innings with five strikeouts.

Madison Mallards 6, Green Bay Rockers 3

For their third win in a row the Madison Mallards defeat the Green Bay Rockers 6-3. Beau Nichols (Lincoln Memorial University) was the starting pitcher throwing four scoreless innings with three strikeouts giving up three hits. Christian Rivera (Erskine College) led the Mallards with two home runs and a walk. Estevan Moreno (Notre Dame) had the first home run of the night in the top of the first inning. The Mallards generated five hits on the day.

Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 8, Kokomo Jackrabbits 3

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders now have a winning record as they defeat the Kokomo Jackrabbits 8-3. Nick Mitchell (Western Illinois University) had the first hit of the night with a single to center field, scoring on a double by Parker Noland (Vanderbilt University). Mitchell had two hits with a double and a walk. Nolan went two for three with two doubles. Jackson Loftin (Oral Roberts University) reached base four times with two hits including a single and double along with two walks. Luke Vaks (College of Charleston) had the win on the mound throwing 3.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts.

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 15, Lakeshore Chinooks 1

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters won their 27th win of the season against the Lakeshore Chinooks 15-1. Brendan Bobo (California State University, Fullerton) went two for five with a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning. Harry Owen (Consumnes River College) had two hits with a home run and three RBI scoring the final runs of the game in the sixth inning. Ben Ross (Notre Dame College) reached five times with four walks, one hit and three RBI.  Chris Conniff (St. John’s University) had three hits including a double and two RBI scoring twice as he reached base.

Waterloo Bucks 8, Minnesota Mud Puppies 5

The Waterloo Bucks rallied back to take the first game of the series against the Minnesota Mud Puppies 8-5. Down by one run heading into the bottom of the ninth inning Ryan Guardino (Tennessee Tech University) blasted a grand slam to walk off the game. Kyle Huckstorf (University of Iowa) went two for four with one walk and two RBI. Jake Withoit (Davidson College) and Raphael Pelletier (Kansas State) both had two hits with one RBI. Aaron Treloar (Glendale Community College) had the win on the mound throwing the last inning.

Mankato MoonDogs 12, Rochester Honkers 10

For their fifth win in a row the Mankato MoonDogs defeated the Rochester Honkers 12-10. The MoonDogs had an explosive seventh inning scoring eight runs to advance their lead. Simon Scherry (University of Evansville) and Kai Roberts (University of Utah) both had back to back RBI singles in the eighth. Scherry had three hits with two RBI and Roberts had two hits with three RBI. Sean Ross (Indiana State University) followed with an RBI double going three for three on the night. Ariel Armas (University of San Diego) had the final hit of the inning with a home run scoring two runs.

Duluth Huskies 9, La Crosse Loggers 7

The Duluth Huskies are now leading the Great Plains East as they took down the La Crosse Loggers 9-7. The Huskies struck first, scoring their first two runs in the first inning with a home run by Kristian Campbell (Georgia Tech). Campbell had two hits with three RBI. Eduardo Rosario (University Nebraska Omaha) had three hits with one double and two RBI. Jd Rogers (Vanderbilt University) went two for four with a double, stolen base and one RBI. Nolan Lebmoff (Valparaiso University) had the win throwing three innings with seven strikeouts.

St.Cloud Rox 4, Eau Claire Express 3

The St.Cloud Rox defeated the Eau Claire Express in a 12 inning victory. Brice Matthews (University of Nebraska) had the first hit of the game for his team with a home run over the center field fence. Matthews had two hits with two home runs. Trevor Austin (Mercer University) contributed to the offense with a double, triple and a walk. Down by one run going into the bottom of the 12th with a runner on third and one out, John Nett (St. Cloud State University) scored the last run of the game with a sac fly. Carson Keithley had the win on the mound throwing four scoreless innings with five strikeouts giving up zero hits.

Bismarck Larks 8, Willmar Stingers 7

The Bismarck Larks take the first game of the series against the Willmar Stingers 8-7. The Larks had an explosive  fourth inning scoring seven runs with seven hits. Daryl Ruiz (California State University, San Bernardino) was the first to reach base in the fourth on a hit by pitch. Ruiz had two doubles and one RBI on the night. Jake Hjelle (University of Minnesota-Crookston) went two for four with a single, double and one RBI. Joseph Kalafut (Edgewood College) had the win on the mound throwing 5.2 innings with seven strikeouts.
