{"id":2570,"date":"2016-08-14T06:22:50","date_gmt":"2016-08-14T06:22:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/duluth-huskies\/?p=2570"},"modified":"2016-08-14T06:22:50","modified_gmt":"2016-08-14T06:22:50","slug":"huskies-earn-victory-over-express","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/duluth-huskies\/2016\/08\/14\/huskies-earn-victory-over-express\/","title":{"rendered":"Huskies Earn Victory Over Express"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tThe Duluth Huskies (30-41) battled back and earned a victory over the Eau Claire Express (44-27) at Carson Park Saturday night.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Duluth Huskies jumped out to an early lead in the top of the 1<sup>st<\/sup> when Tyler Duex scored on a Dillon Paulson double. The Huskies added to their lead in the top of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> when Daniel Amaral hit a 2 run homerun, his first homerun of the season.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Express would battle back however scoring 1 run in the bottom of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, 1 run in the bottom of the 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, 1 run in the bottom of the 5<sup>th<\/sup>, and 2 runs in the bottom of the 6<sup>th<\/sup>. This gave the Express a 5-3 lead heading into the top of the 8<sup>th<\/sup>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe 8<sup>th<\/sup> inning saw some &ldquo;fireworks&rdquo; from the Huskies as they took a 6-5 lead on a Paulson 3 run homerun.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDrew Molin got the start for the Huskies and tossed 5.0 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits while walking 1 and striking out 4. Molin was replaced by Ryan Cunningham, who in his Huskies debut tossed 1.0 innings allowing 2 runs on 2 hits while walking 1 and striking out 1. David Kroger replaced Cunningham and earned the victory after tossing 3.0 innings allowing 0 runs on 1 hit while walking 1 and striking out 2.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDillon Paulson had a nice night at the plate for the Huskies going 2-4 with a double, homerun, and 4 RBIs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Huskies play their season finale tomorrow night at Carson Park in Eau Claire.
