\n\tNew location for final 2016 Wednesday Night at the Races\n<\/p>\n
\n\t(Duluth, Minn.) The Young Athletes Foundation, Grandma’s Marathon and the Duluth Huskies invite\n<\/p>\n
\n\tNorthland children 14 and under to lace up their shoes and take the field for the season-end finale of\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWednesday Night at the Races followed by a year-end picnic at Wade Stadium.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThis is the first year the Young Athletes Foundation and Duluth Huskies have partnered to host the final race of\n<\/p>\n
\n\tthe series and year-end celebration at Wade Stadium.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe event is free and all finishers receive a Wednesday Night at the Races t-shirt upon the completion of their\n<\/p>\n
\n\trace. Registration is between 5:00 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. and the races begin at 6 p.m. with the youngest going\n<\/p>\n
\n\tfirst. Following the races, there will be a free, year-end picnic celebration catered by Green Mill with special\n<\/p>\n
\n\tguest Harlie D. Huskie.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tAge categories and distances for boys and girls: (may change due to weather conditions)\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWheelchair division – 1\/8 mile\n<\/p>\n
\n\t4 & under – 1\/8 mile\n<\/p>\n
\n\t5 & 6 – 1\/8 mile\n<\/p>\n
\n\t7 & 8 – 1\/4 mile\n<\/p>\n
\n\t9 & 10 – 1\/4 mile\n<\/p>\n
\n\t11 & 12 – 1\/2 mile\n<\/p>\n
\n\t13 & 14 – 1\/2 mile\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe 2016 races have been held each Wednesday since July 27 at different locations including East High School,\n<\/p>\n
\n\tUniversity of Minnesota-Duluth, Hermantown High School, Superior High School and drew over 300 area\n<\/p>\n
\n\tchildren each week. The events are hosted by the Young Athletes Foundation (YAF), a Grandma's Marathon\n<\/p>\n
\n\tprogram that focuses on the promotion and development of healthy and active lifestyles for youth throughout\n<\/p>\n
\n\tthe region. Since its inception in 1990, the YAF has contributed more than $840,000 to area nonprofit youth\n<\/p>\n
\n\tathletic organizations.\n<\/p>\n
