\n\tThe Duluth Huskies entered play today on a 5-game losing streak, and looked to today’s game against the Thunder Bay Border Cats as a chance to snap that. The rain had other ideas as the first game was delayed over an hour and a half after midway through the first.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tAustin Truso of the Huskies only lasted .2 innings because of the rain delay, but was looking sharp before the rain started affecting his grip. The Border Cats decided to bring back out their starter and it was costly. Ricardo Garcia was solid in the first inning, but was hit hard in the second and a couple errors were costly as his pitch count for the inning shot over 50 pitches. He ended the game with 2 innings pitched and 2 unearned runs.\n<\/p>\n
\n\t Headed into the bottom of the ninth of the first game, the huskies were trailing the Border Cats 3-4 with two out and two on before a wild pitch lead to the tying run coming across the plate. The huskies weren’t done yet, as the huskies continued to pore on 8 more runs, including a three-run moon shot off the powerful bat of Roskam.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tOverall, Isaacson lead the way going 3 for 4 with a triple, two runs scored and 3 stolen bases. Baier and Roskam both added 3 RBI to help lead the Huskies. \n<\/p>\n
\n\tTodays second game of the double header featured a matchup of the lefties. Decaster had the better of the days, as he went 4.1 innings and gave up 4 runs with 3 strikeouts. His opponent Centala left after 1 plus innings with what appeared as some type of injury. He ended his day with 1 innings pitched and 2 runs. \n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Duluth Huskies jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead after the top of the fifth, but the Border Cats answered with 3 of their own to tie the game. The huskies then answered right back with two more in the 6th<\/sup>, and continued to chip away in the 7th<\/sup>, eventually pulling away with the final score of 8-4. \n<\/p>\n \n\tA couple of the newer guys helped produce today, Including Matt Frazier who added 2 doubles including an RBI. He ended the day batting a clean .400. Tre Brown Continued to Impress in his second game of the year lighting up the radar gun with a 91 MPH fastball. Between his fastball and break on his off speed he is looking as un hittable as they come.\n<\/p>\n \n\tYour Huskies have Wednesday off, before their two game series against the Eau Claire Express, first game at Wade Stadium at 6:35 and then they will head to Eau Claire to finish the series on Friday.
