\n\t3,997 fans were treated to a late-inning thriller as the Duluth Huskies (11-10) took on the Mankato MoonDogs (12-7) on Ila Borders bobble head night at Wade Stadium. The largest crowd of the summer stuck it out through rain and stormy weather as the Huskies narrowly dropped the game 3-1.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tStarters Nick Scheidler (1-0, 6.04) and Brett Newberg (4-4, 2.94) dueled through the seventh inning of the game. Scheidler departed after getting through the seventh, allowing just a single run and five hits while striking out two. Newberg completed the eighth inning, allowing a lone run on eight hits and striking out eight.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Huskies jumped out on top thanks to an Andrew Robinson single in the fourth inning that brought Rob Emery in from second. However, that would prove to be the Huskies lone run of the evening.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMankato tied the game in the sixth on an Ethan Valdez sacrifice-fly and would take the lead in the eighth after Kyle Cuellar hit an RBI single off of Victor Sanchez to bring home Daniel Amaral.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Huskies are now in fourth place and the fourth division with less than two weeks to go in the season, but will face Mankato again tomorrow at 6:35. Gates will open at 5:35 for Wine, Women, and Baseball Night at The Wade.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
