2018 Player Additions Announced Just Before Pederson Visits<\/em><\/p>\n

Duluth, Minn. \u2013 The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club is excited to announce additions to the 2018 roster prior to welcoming their new Field Manager, Tyger Pederson, to the Northland. Tyler Van Stone (RHP, OF) from Henderson, Nevada, and John Lagattuta (C, OF) from Davis, California, will be joining the previously announced players for the summer of 2018.<\/p>\n

Tyler Van Stone is a 6\u2019 Junior coming from Hawai\u2019i Pacific University. Prior to his college ball experience, he played high school ball at Foothill High School and was awarded First Team All-Conference Pitcher, First-Team All-Connie Mack Infielder, and Second Team All-Conference Utility Player. In 2016 at Hawai\u2019i Pacific, Van Stone made 10 appearances on the mound summing up 17 strikeouts and allowing 7 walks in 35.2 innings rounding out a 4.29 ERA. Van Stone also made 10 appearances offensively recording a .111 batting average. This past season, he improved his ERA to 3.38 and logged a .200 batting average.<\/p>\n

John Lagattuta is a 6\u2019 1\u201d freshman coming from UC Berkeley playing for the California Golden Bears Baseball Program. Prior to joining the Bears, he played high school ball at Davis High School where he was named the 2017 Male Athlete of the Year. Lagattuta earned an exceptional amount of achievements in his senior year. Some of those include hitting a .451 with a .500 on-base percentage, 46 hits, 38 RBI, 33 runs, nine doubles, six triples, four home runs, .774 slugging percentage, and five steals.<\/p>\n

The Huskies will be hosting a meet and greet with Pederson and the Huskies front office. It will be held on Tuesday, December 19th, 2017, at 5:30pm at the Lyric Kitchen Bar (205 W Superior St, Duluth, MN 55802) open to the media and the public. There will also be a reception to follow starting at 6:30 for RSVPed guests only.<\/p>\n
