The Duluth Huskies\u00a0are excited to announce that the organization will be accepting applications for a grant, courtesy of the Northwoods League Foundation\u2019s program entitled \u201cShare the Glove\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Northwoods League Foundation will be awarding more than $55,000 in youth baseball and softball equipment through 22 Share the Glove grants to be awarded this Spring. Each grant, with an approximate retail value of $2,500, will include two sets of catcher\u2019s gear, ten gloves, eight batting helmets, six bats and one bucket of practice balls.<\/p>\n

Share the Glove was introduced in 2018 as part of the Northwoods League\u2019s 25th Season Celebration. \u201cWe were thrilled at the community response to this initiative last season,\u201d said Gary Hoover, Northwoods League Foundation Secretary. \u201cShare the Glove embodies not only the mission of the Northwoods League Foundation, but the spirit of the League and its Affiliates. We look forward to further inspiring participation in, and a love for, the games of baseball and softball throughout our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

What is the grant?<\/strong>
\nThe grant is a standardized set of Rawlings equipment, sized for youth ages 9-12. There will be ten (10) baseball grants and ten (10) softball grants awarded. The Huskies have been chosen to award one of the softball grants for the 2019 season.<\/p>\n

Who is eligible to receive the grant?<\/strong>
\nThe following criteria must be met in order to be eligible to receive the grant:<\/p>\n

The organization qualifies as a 501(c)(3) organization, school or school-based program, or community-based organization as defined under US IRC section 501(c)(3);
\nThe organization is not an individual, for-profit business, political, or religious organization;
\nThe organization provides opportunities for kids ages 9-12 to play baseball or softball within a community that is served by a Northwoods League affiliate.
\nHow will grant applications be accepted and awarded?
\nThe Huskies organization will be accepting grant applications from organizations within our community.<\/p>\n
