The Huskies welcome the first of his kind, Jordan Anderson.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Duluth, Minn — \u00a0The Duluth Huskies are excited to share the story of Jordan Anderson, the first full year \u00a0Corporate and Business Sales Intern. <\/span><\/p>\n

Jordan Anderson is 24 years old and from Plymouth, Minnesota. He went to Wayzata High School. After graduation, he went to Oklahoma State University for a semester and then transferred to Minnesota State University, Mankato. Jordan graduated in December of 2018 and started with the Huskies in January.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jordan met General Manager Greg Culver at the Twin\u2019s Job Fair last year and knew from one conversation the Huskies was the team for him. \u201cI interviewed with Greg and just couldn\u2019t get over his passion and obvious excitement for what he was building in Duluth. I wanted to be a part of it.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

In explaining his job in more detail Jordan said, \u201cI do a lot more than just selling and cleaning up. So far this season I\u2019ve had my hands in ticketing, marketing, writing, graphic designing, and so much more. The promo schedule was my baby and I could not be more proud of how it turned out. Now I just hope the people of the Twin Ports area enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The processes from January until now have been more than just a job, it\u2019s been an experience for Jordan. \u201cWhen I first got here, I was like a kid in a candy store. Everything I was doing was pretty new and exciting. I have never really gotten to do any of this stuff before, so it\u2019s been really cool to get in here and learn how it all works behind the scenes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

There is one specific event this offseason that stuck out to Jordan. \u201cAt the end of my first week, I was thrust into action when the Cardinals announced they\u2019d signed Tyger. We were trying to cover it up until our first Hot Stove, but they just released it without telling us. I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to write the press release about his new position. I hadn\u2019t written anything in years, so I\u2019m just glad it made sense.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI pride myself on my ability to adapt and learn on the fly,\u201d he said. He believes it\u2019s helped him with his current position, and will with the many other opportunities that haven\u2019t even surfaced yet. He also mentioned the helpful hand of his mentors, Culver and Duluth Huskies Owner Michael Rosenzweig. <\/span><\/p>\n

When asked what he\u2019s most excited about, Jordan was quoted saying, \u201cI cannot wait to see all of the excited faces of our fans and create memories.\u201d \u201cCreating memories\u201d is the most prevalent of Jordan\u2019s occupational mottos, and has been ever since he started working with the Minnesota Vikings. \u201cIt was my goal from the start to put together the best promotion schedule ever devised. Now it\u2019s time to execute the schedule I\u2019ve assembled and create memories for all that attend a Huskies game this year.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

A day at the Huskies office starts out, \u201cI do the normal work stuff. Answer emails, recap the previous day’s work, continue building on projects, etc\u2026 But then who knows what\u2019s going to happen. One day I\u2019ll be out pitching an idea to a new client, and the next I\u2019ll be working in concessions with Mike.\u201d Jordan also gets to see a different side of the front office duo. \u201cMike and Greg are like an old married couple, and I get a front row seat to all of their shenanigans. The bickering, the reminiscing, the joking. All of it. It is easy to come to work when I know even my worst day with the Huskies would be better than my best day anywhere else.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

The fun Jordan has had at the Wade hasn\u2019t come without its challenges. \u201cI am now the northernmost member of my family, by a lot. My mom is in Missouri, and my dad just moved to Arizona. Being so far away from them isn\u2019t easy, but thank goodness for technology right?\u201d Jordan also had to bid a premature farewell to one of his best friends. \u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s silly to think my cat, Mowgli, was my best friend, but he was everything to me. I loved him to death. He got very sick shortly after I arrived in Duluth and I reluctantly had to put him down.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The best part for Jordan has been learning about the history of Duluth, the team, and the Northwoods League. \u201cI hadn\u2019t been to Duluth much in my younger years, so it\u2019s awesome to learn the layout and history. So far, I really enjoy Duluth and the surrounding area! I\u2019m really comfortable up here. The weather is definitely something, but I\u2019ve learned to love it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGo with the flow and just keep swimming,\u201d are two phrases Jordan uses to explain himself. Not allowing stress to get the best of him is one of Jordan\u2019s highest overall priorities. \u201cI truly believe that if I can maintain a level head and keep my composure, I can become better at whatever I\u2019m doing. Things happen that aren\u2019t great. You cannot change the fact that it happened. Dwelling on failures only magnifies the damage. Clean it up, learn from it, and make sure it doesn\u2019t happen again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Jordan is excited for this season and a future with the Huskies. \u201cGreg kept mentioning the opportunity of having a future with the Huskies,\u201d Jordan said, \u201cA lot of internships are just for the experience and you have to look for opportunities elsewhere upon their completion. I fully intend to make it impossible for them to let me go and stick around in Duluth for the foreseeable future!\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n
