Huskies Welcome New Hitting Coach Nick White<\/p>\n

Duluth, Minn — The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club is thrilled to welcome new Hitting Coach Nick White. White has a well-rounded experience of baseball from growing up in a well-versed baseball and softball family to playing himself, and now being a coach.<\/p>\n

Coach White is from Monterey Peninsula where he grew up with his entire family around him. He went to college in Salinas, CA, which is actually where his mother teaches. He is the oldest of three children with a younger brother and sister. White is very talented off the field as well with just finishing his second Master\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n

He heard of the Huskies and Northwoods League through word of mouth by old teammates that always \u201cspoke very highly of it.\u201d He is also very excited to join the Huskies family, meet incoming players and \u201cstart winning.\u201d This connects with his belief of \u201c Every new player is an opportunity for me to grow as a coach and for me to impact someone\u2019s life positively.\u201d<\/p>\n

White realized one day at a time in the work field that being on a baseball field is where he wanted to be. Through his baseball experiences along with very rigorous school accomplishments, it shouldn\u2019t be a surprise that he explains himself as hard working on and off the field, \u201cI don\u2019t just want to work hard I want to work harder than the people around me every single day.\u201d To even giving great advice for young baseball players. \u201cThere is no job too small or beneath you. If there is work to be done you should be the first one there trying to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Huskies Fans\u2019 hardworking players, passion, and the drive to win is exactly what Hitting Coach White, along with the rest of the coaching staff plan to give you this 2020 season. Until then make sure to stay<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, over 230 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist (CHC) and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS).
