Duluth, Minn.- Two days until opener, Huskies faithful! As we eagerly await our long-awaited return to the stands of Duluth\u2019s Wade Stadium, the team rounds out the roster with five more additions. Arkansas pitching duo Will McEntire and Nate Wohlgemuth join Ohio State teammates Blayne Robinson and Ethan Hammerberg, as well as Skyline College\u2019s Michael Sarhatt as today\u2019s highlighted players.<\/p>\n

Sarhatt is a Belmont, California native who committed to Skyline College on May 29, 2020. Skyline College, as you may recall, is where Huskies Head Coach Marcus Pointer works as a pitching coach. A two-year varsity player at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, Michael saw time as a right-handed pitcher, 1st<\/sup> baseman, and outfielder, holding an on-base percentage of .316. The Belmont native will look to get a chance at each position with the Huskies as well.<\/p>\n

Ethan Hammerberg joins the Huskies as a sophomore RHP from Ohio State. The Upper Arlington, Ohio native saw limited action as a freshman for the Buckeyes, appearing in three games in a truncated 2020 season. During that span, Hammerberg posted a 5.40 ERA with seven strikeouts in 3.1 innings pitched, per ohiostatebuckeyes.com. That span also included a scoreless inning vs Harvard and two scoreless innings at North Florida. In 2021, Ethan holds an ERA of 7.71 and seven strikeouts in five appearances for the Buckeyes.<\/p>\n

A college teammate of Hammerberg\u2019s, Blayne Robinson joins the Huskies as a first baseman from the Buckeyes. Robinson, a sophomore from Defiance, Ohio, who was the top recruit for his position out of Ohio in 2019, originally committed to Louisville before switching to Ohio State. Prior to joining OSU, the Defiance native played in 21 games for San Jacinto College-North, where he hit four homeruns and 19 RBIs. Outside of baseball, Blayne enjoys hunting and fishing, and his favorite baseball player is Bryce Harper.<\/p>\n

Nate Wohlgemuth is a freshman right-handed pitcher at the University of Arkansas. A native of Owasso, Oklahoma, Nate had a unique way of staying loose in 2020. \u201cI would find big, open fields in town to be able to toss and hit,\u201d he said. According to arkansasrazorbacks.com, Wohlgemuth was the top-ranked pitcher in Oklahoma in 2020. \u201cI was told the Huskies were a great team to play for and that I\u2019d have a great time with the team,\u201d he said. Outside of baseball, Nate enjoys fishing, golfing, and playing video games.<\/p>\n

Wohlgemuth\u2019s Razorback teammate, Will McEntire is another right-handed pitcher coming to Duluth. The sophomore from Bryant, Arkansas started one game and came out of the bullpen for another in his abbreviated freshman season in 2020. In that span, Will allowed just one run and struck out seven batters in eight innings pitched, according to arkansasrazorbacks.com. After redshirting this season for Arkansas, McEntire is eager to get some reps in with the Huskies. \u201cI am just excited to get to pitch against guys that aren\u2019t on my team and go out and compete against good competition,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
