The Duluth Huskies drop their second straight game in their return to Wade Stadium.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Duluth, Minn.- The Duluth Huskies blew a three-run lead as they lost to the La Crosse Loggers 6-3. With the loss, the Huskies fall to 2-7 on the season, while the Loggers improve to 5-4.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Huskies scored all three runs in the first inning thanks to a Jesse Pierce RBI single (in his Huskies debut), an Xavier Carter RBI single, and a passed ball that scored Carter.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The very next frame starter Brody Maynard gave up the lead. Three runs crossed the plate in the top of the second inning. Overall, Maynard went two innings, gave up three hits, three runs (all earned), a walk, and struck out one.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Matthew Craven received the loss after giving up the go-ahead run to make the score 4-3 Loggers in the top of the fourth. Craven fell to 0-1 on the year after pitching two innings, allowing two hits, one run, (one earned), two walks, and striking out two.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Following Craven, Michael Sarhatt made his pitching debut for Duluth. He gave up two runs (one earned) in two innings of work. Both of the runs came in the 6th inning.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The lone bright spot in the bullpen was Nate Wohlgemuth who fired three innings of scoreless ball, and racked up four strikeouts.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Picking up the win for La Crosse was Corey Jackson who went five innings, allowing seven hits, three runs (two earned), two walks, and striking out four. Jackson\u2019s record improved to 1-1 on the season. Eli Campbell and Erik Demchuk combined for four and a third scoreless. Demchuk finished off the game and picked up his first save of the season for the Loggers by throwing one and a third scoreless.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Offensively, Kimo Fukofuka, Mike Boeve, Xavier Carter, and Ambren Voitik each had multi-hit games as the Huskies had their third consecutive game of putting together 10+ hits as a team. Mike Boeve led the charge with a team-leading three hits on the night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the quartet\u2019s offensive performances were not enough to put the Huskies back in the win column as the Huskies failed to record an extra base hit during the game. The Huskies stranded twelve men on base, and have now left 10+ runners on base for the third time this season; they were unable to push across a run with the bases loaded and two men out in the second and eighth innings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Huskies will look to even up the series against the Loggers tomorrow at 6:35 PM in Wade Stadium.<\/span><\/p>\n
