Dyersville, Iowa – Over 400 team names were submitted from our “Name YOUR Team” contest, presented by 1-800-Tshirts.com<\/a>, spanning back to May 7 when the ownership group of the newest entry into the Northwoods League announced they will be bringing a team to Dyersville and the iconic Field of Dreams for 2027.<\/p>\n

The five Team Name Finalists that were submitted (and background references) are listed below and Voting is now officially open<\/a><\/strong> and will remain open through June 30.\u00a0 The official team name will be unveiled during the Northwoods League All-Star Festivities on July 7-8 at The Field of Dreams.<\/p>\n

TEAM NAME FINALISTS (Listed in Alphabetical Order):<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dyersville Corn Dogs
\n<\/em><\/strong>A tribute to the corn fields that make the Field of Dreams setting magical and the agricultural nature of the area.<\/em><\/p>\n

Dyersville Dreamers
\n<\/strong>The name “Dreamers\u201d captures both the spirit of the iconic Field of Dreams site and the broader identity of baseball itself.\u00a0 Field of Dreams is built on the idea that belief, nostalgia, and imagination can bring something extraordinary to life.\u00a0 \u00a0The word \u201cDreamers\u201d reflects that legacy, honoring the famous line, \u201cIf you build it, he will come,\u201d while inviting a new generation of players and fans to believe in possibility and community.<\/em>

Dyersville Ghosts
\n<\/strong>A tribute to the “ghost players” that come out of the corn.\u00a0 \u00a0“The players playing as the Ghosts being the cornerstone of not only the movie, but really make you believe that you are watching legends of the past play the game the way it was way back then.”<\/em>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dyersville Moonlighters
\n<\/strong>A tribute to Moonlight Graham, a featured character in the movie Field of Dreams.\u00a0 “Playing baseball under the moonlight, in a wide-open cornfield … Paying homage to Moonlight Graham as well.”<\/em>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dyersville Spirits
\n<\/strong>“The Field of Dreams revolves around the Spirits of former Black Sox and MLB players”<\/em><\/p>\n
