Although giving up minimal damage in his appearance, he took the loss as the Express were not able to get the lead back after going down 1-0 in the 2nd.<\/p>\n<p>The Loggers had solid contributions from a variety of their players, including starting Pitcher\/DH Seth Cox. Cox did damage on the mound and at the plate to Eau Claire.<\/p>\n<p>Defensive Errors on the Express&#8217; part hurt their defensive chances, as only 2 of La Crosse&#8217;s 5 runs were earned tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Eau Claire was able to narrowly avoid the shutout, as Ryan Nagelbach (UIC) cranked the only extra-base hit of the night for the club in the bottom of the 8th. His double over the right fielder&#8217;s head drove in teammate Nate Witte (UW-Eau Claire) to bring the score to 5-1.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s where the scoring stopped for both teams on the night though, as La Crosse split the 2-game series with the Express.<\/p>\n<p>The Express will be back in action tomorrow night vs. the Honkers in Rochester. First pitch will be at 6:35 pm CT.
