He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin\u2013Platteville, where he earned a Master\u2019s Degree in Sports Administration. His previous experience includes serving as Assistant General Manager for the Waterloo Bucks and, most recently, as Food and Beverage Director for the Cedar Rapids Kernels, the Class A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. His experience, leadership style, and commitment to fan\u2011first baseball align directly with the Express\u2019 long\u2011term vision for growth, innovation, and an enhanced game\u2011day experience at historic Carson Park.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to welcome Jake to the Express family,\u201d said Craig Toycen, Owner\/Operator of the Eau Claire Express. \u201cHe has Chippewa Valley roots, and his energy, professionalism, and passion for building great fan experiences stood out immediately. Jake understands the importance of community connection and operational excellence, and we\u2019re confident he will help lead the Express into a successful new era.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As General Manager, Horan will oversee all aspects of team operations, including ticketing, sponsorships, staffing, marketing, community partnerships, and game\u2011day execution. He will also play a key role in strengthening relationships with local businesses, fans, and the Northwoods League.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI\u2019m very excited to get to work with our sponsors, season ticket holders, host families, staff, and the community as a whole. Being from the Chippewa Valley, I\u2019m excited to return to the area. The Express are a great part of this community, and have a great foundation in place to continue to be successful moving forward. Having completed its\u2019 32<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in history with 26 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff, over 410 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and two-time World Series Champion Max Scherzer (TOR), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford and World Series Champion Chris Sale (ATL).
