Joe Gillette (INF) and John Pomeroy (RHP) will complement an already talented 2015 Express team.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tJoe Gillette (INF) is a freshman this season for the Beavers from Scotts Valley, California. Gillette was drafted in the 23<sup>rd<\/sup> round of the MLB 2014 First Year Players Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals, but did not sign with the team in order to play his freshman season with Oregon State. In his senior season at Scotts Valley High School, Gillette hit .442 with 12 doubles, two triples, six homers, 25 RBI, and 27 stolen bases. Through just five games this season, Gillette has scored three times in just eight plate appearances for the Beavers.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tJohn Pomeroy (RHP) is a sophomore at Oregon State this season and looks to contribute much more in 2015 having pitched in only one game in 2014. Pomeroy was a four year letter-winner for Mossyrock High School in Mossyrock, Washington and was rated the 143<sup>rd<\/sup> overall prospect in the nation from Baseball America coming out of high school. In two appearances this season for the Beavers, Pomeroy has faced three batters and has struck out two and walked one.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Express begin their 11th season of play in the Northwoods League on May 26<sup>th<\/sup> as they take on the Border Cats in Thunder Bay. Eau Claire&rsquo;s home opener is scheduled for May 28<sup>th<\/sup> versus the Duluth Huskies. First pitch of that contest will be at 6:35 PM. Season tickets and voucher packs are on sale now and single-game tickets will go on sale May 1<sup>st<\/sup>.\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n\t###\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe <em>Eau Claire Express<\/em> are a<em> member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 22<sup>nd <\/sup>season of summer collegiate baseball in 2015, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (BOS) and Ben Zobrist (OAK).
