Eau Claire, WI \u2013<\/strong> The Eau Claire Express (14-18) continued their final homestand of the season, taking on the Willmar Stingers (22-11) on Wednesday night. It was a beautiful night for baseball and the stands were full of fans cheering all night long as a pitchers\u2019 duel took place on the field. The Stingers took control in the 10th inning, topping the Express 4-1.<\/p>\n

Justin Revels (Illinois-Springfield) was spectacular in his final outing. The junior came one strike short of a complete game shutout. Revels tossed 8.2 innings and only gave up one run, a solo home run in the top of the 9th<\/sup>. He allowed five hits and one walk while striking out six. Andrew Lee (Century College) return to the Carson Park mound for the first time since June 7th<\/sup>. He took the loss after giving up three runs on one hit and four walks in one inning. Austin George (College of Charleston) pitched 0.1 innings.<\/p>\n

The lone Express run came in the bottom of the 6th<\/sup> inning. Nick Brueser (Stanford) crushed his 7th<\/sup> home run of the season over the left field wall. There were runners in scoring position in the 2nd<\/sup> inning, but Eau Claire failed to score. Connor Laspina (Flagler College) singled, Drew Hmielewski (Minnesota) walked and Chase Scharnek (MATC) hit a fielder choice that advanced Laspina to third.<\/p>\n

Eau Claire welcomes the Mankato MoonDogs to town tomorrow for a two game set. Game one on August 9th<\/sup> has a scheduled 6:35 pm first pitch. It is Mustard Night presented by Silver Spring Foods!
