FOND DU LAC, WI – The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders have announced three more players who have been added to the 2018 roster.  Chris Ayers (Indiana State), Aaron Funk (Arkansas-Little Rock), & Tyler Wardwell (Duke) will be part of the Dock Spiders team this summer.

Ayers, a 6’2” junior outfielder, is playing his third season for the Sycamores this spring.  Ayers saw action in 36 games with 29 starts his sophomore season finishing with a .272 batting average after picking up 31 base hits in 114 at bats.  He also tallied eight doubles and a pair of home runs for a .395 slugging percentage.

Funk, a 6’6” freshman right-handed pitcher, is playing his first season for the Trojans.  Funk is from Lawrence, KS, and was a 2017 Louisville Slugger All-American Honorable Mention and a Second Team All-State selection.  He also helped his high school team win the 2015 state championship.

Wardwell, a 6’2” freshman infielder, is playing in his first season at Duke this spring.  Wardwell is from Cincinnati, OH, and was a 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-America and Central Region Honorable Mention selection.  He was rated among the top 500 overall prospects nationally and the No. 147 shortstop in the 2017 recruiting class by Perfect Game.
