Host families agree to house, feed, and provide support to the collegiate players who call the Fond du Lac community home during their Northwoods League season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFond du Lac is a top destination in the Northwoods League and our host families\u2019 incredible passion for our team and players is a major reason,\u201d said Dock Spiders General Manager Jim Misudek. \u201cOur community takes pride in being a part of each player\u2019s baseball journey. Dock Spiders host families form lifetime relationships and create unique bonds as our players move forward in their baseball careers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Benefits of the program for host families include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complimentary tickets for your immediate family<\/li>\n<li>Host family picnics<\/li>\n<li>15% discount in the Team Store<\/li>\n<li>Guaranteed all giveaway items distributed during the season<\/li>\n<li>Rewarding, lifelong relationships<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Families interested in the program should have a separate bedroom for the player and be able to host from late-May through mid-August. The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. Now in its\u2019 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 24 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff, over 325 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (NYM), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and 2019\/2021 Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and 2021 All-Star, MLB Gold Glove winner and 2019 Second Team All-MLB shortstop Marcus Semien (TEX).
