{"id":2118,"date":"2018-11-16T10:16:39","date_gmt":"2018-11-16T16:16:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/fond-du-lac-dock-spiders\/?p=2118"},"modified":"2019-06-04T09:59:08","modified_gmt":"2019-06-04T14:59:08","slug":"dock-spiders-announce-2019-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/fond-du-lac-dock-spiders\/2018\/11\/16\/dock-spiders-announce-2019-schedule\/","title":{"rendered":"Dock Spiders Announce 2019 Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOND DU LAC, WI \u2013 It\u2019s time to get out your calendars because the Dock Spiders have announced their 2019 schedule!\u00a0 The Dock Spiders will open their season on Tuesday, May 28 on the road against the Kalamazoo Growlers.\u00a0 The home opener for the Dock Spiders and unveiling of the 2018 NWL championship banner is scheduled for Saturday, June 1 at Marian University\u2019s Herr-Baker Field against the Lakeshore Chinooks at 6:35pm.<\/p>\n<p>The Dock Spiders are scheduled to play 72 games \u2013 36 home and 36 away \u2013 during the upcoming season.\u00a0New for 2019, the Dock Spiders will be a member of the Northwoods League\u2019s Great Lakes West Division which includes Lakeshore, Madison, Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Wisconsin Rapids.\u00a0 The Dock Spiders will play each team in the division twelve times (six at home and six on the road).\u00a0 The remaining games will be played against teams in the Great Lakes East Division.<\/p>\n<p>Fond du Lac will host a day\/night doubleheader against the Lakeshore Chinooks on Tuesday, June 11<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 The first game will start at 11:35AM, and the second game will start at 6:35PM.\u00a0 Both games will be played at Marian University\u2019s Herr-Baker Field, and each game will require a separate ticket.\u00a0 The Dock Spiders will also be home for the third consecutive year on July 4<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 This year\u2019s game will have a special 1:05PM start time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c&#8221;It seems like it was just yesterday that our players were holding up the championship trophy capping off the 2018 season.\u201d said Ryan Moede, the General Manager of the Dock Spiders.\u00a0 \u201cI know our coaching staff, front office personnel, returning players, and the Fond du Lac community are looking forward to trying to defend our title in 2019!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Dock Spiders schedule features 21 weekend dates including six Friday nights, seven Saturday nights, and eight Sunday afternoon games.\u00a0 Game times for the Dock Spiders will be 1:05pm on Sundays and 6:35pm for all other games except for two games (June 3 and July 23) which will start at 11:35am.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/fond-du-lac-dock-spiders\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2018\/11\/DS_2019_Schedule.pdf\">HERE <\/a>for the printable 2019 schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Season ticket and 7-Game ticket packages are currently available at <a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/fond-du-lac-dock-spiders\/tickets\/season-tickets\/\">www.dockspiders.com<\/a>. \u00a0A limited number of recently announced Holiday Packs are also currently available <a href=\"http:\/\/fond-du-lac-dock-spiders.nwltickets.com\/FeaturedItems\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Team merchandise for all your holiday shopping needs is currently available for <a href=\"https:\/\/squareup.com\/store\/fond-du-lac-baseball-club\">purchase at the team store<\/a> on-line or at the Dock Spiders front office.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. <\/em><em>The 25-year old summer collegiate league is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 22 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, over 200 former Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist (CHC) and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (BOS), Jordan Zimmermann (DET) and Curtis Granderson (TOR). \u00a0All league games are viewable live via the <a href=\"http:\/\/portal.stretchinternet.com\/nwl\/\">Northwoods League portal<\/a>.
