<\/p>\nIt\u2019s time to check in with some Dock Spiders players from last summer to see how their experience was and what to expect during their upcoming college season!<\/p>\n
Sam Hubbe RHP<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Butler University<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n What was your favorite Dock Spiders moment from the regular season of 2018?<\/strong><\/p>\n My favorite regular season moment was beating Kalamazoo and winning the Pitcher of the Night Award.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What was your favorite moment during the Northwoods League championship run in August?<\/strong><\/p>\n My favorite moment during the Northwoods League Championship was winning the whole thing in game three of the series. Specifically, the best moment was when Alex Henwood hit that 2-RBI double to give us the lead in the last few innings of the game! That was awesome.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What was your favorite part about being in Fond du Lac?<\/strong><\/p>\n My favorite part about being in Fondy was probably the Fondy Faithful. I\u2019ve never experienced being a part of something with the whole city. It felt like we were all in and all wanted to win, and it was an amazing feeling.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n How did the Northwoods League experience help you grow as a player?<\/strong><\/p>\n The Northwoods helped me get a strong understanding of what professional baseball is like. You play a game every day and it\u2019s all about what you make out of it. Some kids get burned out, some get lazy and sloth around the whole summer, and some take it seriously and want to get better every day. It was an incredible opportunity for me, and I grew a lot as a player and improved my game personally.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n How was your Fall Ball season, and what are your expectations for your college season this Spring?<\/strong><\/p>\n My Fall season was very successful as well. I will be a weekend starter back at Butler and am going through the leadership role and process in my athletic career. Our expectations going into this Spring season is to win the Big East tournament. A personal goal of mine is to make it to the next level in baseball and get drafted, if the opportunity arises.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What advice would you provide future players who are coming to play for the Dock Spiders and in the Northwoods League?<\/strong><\/p>\n The best advice I can give to future Fond du Lac players is this: keep up with the season! Keep grinding because everyday and every game is an opportunity to improve, but not many realize it. Also, have fun!
