{"id":24426,"date":"2026-08-06T22:10:55","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T03:10:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/fond-du-lac-dock-spiders\/?p=24426"},"modified":"2026-08-06T22:10:55","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T03:10:55","slug":"dock-spiders-rally-past-the-mud-puppies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/fond-du-lac-dock-spiders\/2026\/08\/06\/dock-spiders-rally-past-the-mud-puppies\/","title":{"rendered":"Dock Spiders Rally Past the Mud Puppies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">FOND DU LAC, WI \u2013 The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders pulled away from the Minnesota Mud Puppies 10-3 behind a seven-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Mud Puppies took an early lead in the top of the first, but the Dock Spiders answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning on a Joey Arend home run, a Carter Christenson RBI double and a Reed Strohmeyer RBI single.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After four straight scoreless innings, the Mud Puppies scored in the top of the sixth to make it a 3-2 game. Then, in the seventh inning, the Dock Spiders erupted for seven runs to take a 10-2 lead. The rally featured a wild pitch, a passed ball, a hit-by-pitch, a walk, a Quincy Mazeke sacrifice fly and a Joey Monetti RBI single.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Minnesota scored once in the ninth, but the Dock Spiders closed out a 10-3 victory for their 17th home win of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A pivotal moment came when Tommy Googins stole his 38th base of the season, giving the Dock Spiders their 100th stolen base at home this year and triggering a $5,000 donation from Silica For Your Home to the Boys &amp; Girls Club of Fond du Lac.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Dock Spiders finished with seven hits and drew eight walks. Catcher Joey Monetti led the offense with a 2-for-4 performance that included a double, a run scored and an RBI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nolan Meis earned his second win of the season after pitching 1 2\/3 innings in relief.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Dock Spiders begin their final home-and-home series against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters on Friday with a 6:35 p.m. first pitch at Witter Field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fond du Lac returns to Herr-Baker Field on Saturday for a 4:05 p.m. matchup against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. Saturday is Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Badger Soft Water. Fans can celebrate the final regular-season home game with special drawings, surprises and giveaways throughout the evening.
