FOND DU LAC, WI \u2013 The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders have added three more pitchers to the 2019 squad including one player returning from last year\u2019s championship team.\u00a0 Nico Tellache (Oregon), Aaron Funk (Arkansas \u2013 Little Rock), and Jonathan Cowles (University of Colorado at Colorado Springs) will all be joining the Dock Spiders pitching staff this summer.<\/p>\n

Tellache, a 6\u20190\u201d left handed junior pitcher at the University of Oregon is a familiar face to Dock Spider fans. Last season, he appeared in 15 games in Fond du Lac, pitching in 24 innings and collecting 22 strikeouts. His ERA was 3.75. The Canby, Oregon native is currently 4-1 overall in 19 appearances for the Ducks.<\/p>\n

Funk, is a 6\u20195\u201d right-handed sophomore pitcher at Arkansas Little Rock. Coming out of high school he was a 2017 Louisville Slugger All-American Honorable Mention and a Second Team All-State selection. The Lawrence, Kansas native has appeared in nine games for the Trojans including four starts.<\/p>\n

Cowles, a 6\u20191\u201d right-handed sophomore pitcher at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs was the 2018 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Freshman Pitcher of the Year. This season he has started 11 games for the Mountain Lions. He has pitched 67.1 innings and is 4-7 overall with 48 strikeouts. He is originally from Greeley, Colorado.<\/p>\n

The Dock Spiders will play their first home game this season on Saturday, June 1 against the Lakeshore Chinooks at 6:35pm.\u00a0 Individual Game Tickets for 2019 will be available on Saturday, May 4.\u00a0 Season ticket packages and group outings of 20 or more for the 2019 season are on sale now and may be purchased from the Dock Spiders ticket office.\u00a0 Fans may order over the phone by calling (920) 907-9833 or any time in the ticket section of dockspiders.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The 25-year old summer collegiate league is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 22 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, over 200 former Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist (CHC) and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (BOS), Jordan Zimmermann (DET) and Curtis Granderson (MIA). \u00a0All league games are viewable live via the\u00a0<\/em>Northwoods League portal<\/em><\/a>.
