FOND DU LAC, WI \u2013 The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are excited to announce the signings of four Big Ten players.\u00a0 Alex Vera (Illinois), Brayden Frazier (Iowa), Drew Stahl (Minnesota), and Sam Link (Iowa) will all be joining the Dock Spiders\u2019 squad this summer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vera, a freshman southpaw, is entering his first season with the Illini.\u00a0 Vera came to Illinois ranked as the No. 7 left-handed pitcher in the state of Illinois.\u00a0 He posted a 6-2 record with a 2.64 ERA in his Senior year at Joliet Catholic High School.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brayden, a redshirt freshman, is entering his second season after transitioning to catcher last fall.\u00a0 He came in ranked the No. 6 player in the whole state of Iowa for the 2018 class. He holds the school record for most career doubles (51) at Cedar Rapids Jefferson High.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stahl, a 6\u20190\u201d freshman from the University of Minnesota, plays both shortstop and second base. In High School he was a three year starter at shortstop and\u00a0<\/span>received the honor of being named to the 2019 First Team All-State as a Senior.<\/span><\/p>\n

Link is entering his first season at Iowa.\u00a0 As a High School Senior, he hit .464, drove in 30 runs, and stole 20 bases.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. Having completed its\u2019 26th<\/sup> season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 22 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, over 230 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist (CHC) and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS).
