In the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders area, Campbellsport Athletic Association has been selected to receive the Share the Glove equipment grant from the Northwoods League Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The grant is a standardized set of Rawlings equipment, sized for youth ages 9-12. The equipment grant for youth softball includes:<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse;width: 60.4005%\" border=\"1\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%\"><strong>Softball Grant<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%\">(1) Set of Catcher&#8217;s Gear (helmet, chest protector, shin guards, mitt)<br \/>\n(8) batting helmets<br \/>\n(10) fielding gloves (8 right, 2 left)<br \/>\n(1) bucket of practice softballs<br \/>\n(6) bats (1-27&#8243;, 2-28&#8243;, 2-29&#8243;, 1-30&#8243;)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is eligible to receive the grant?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe following criteria must be met in order to be eligible to receive the grant:<br \/>\n1. Organization qualifies as a 501(c)(3) organization, school or school-based program, or community-based organization as defined under US IRC section 501(c)(3);<br \/>\n2. Organization is not an individual, for-profit business, political, or religious organization;<br \/>\n3. Organization provides opportunities for kids ages 9-12 to play baseball or softball within a community that is served by a Northwoods League affiliate.<\/p>\n<p>The Campbellsport Athletic Association received their equipment last week and will be recognized on the field at a future Dock Spiders home game. The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. Having completed its\u2019 26<\/em><em><sup>th<\/sup><\/em><em>\u00a0season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 22 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, over 230 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist (CHC) and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and MLB All-Star Jordan Zimmermann (DET). All league games are viewable live via the Northwoods League website.
