Host families house, feed, and provide support to players who will be coming to Fond du Lac to play in the Northwoods League.<\/p>\n<p>Families interested in the program should have a separate bedroom for the player and be able to host a player from late-May through mid-August.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur host families have been a big key to our success over the past four seasons,\u201d said Chris Ward, Dock Spiders General Manager. \u201cThe families and players involved really enjoy their experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Benefits of the program for host families include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complimentary tickets for your immediate family.<\/li>\n<li>15% discount in the team store.<\/li>\n<li>Guaranteed all giveaway items distributed during the season.<\/li>\n<li>Host family picnic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in becoming a host family,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/fond-du-lac-dock-spiders\/host-family-program\/\">visit this link<\/a> and fill out the form at the bottom of the page.<\/p>\n<p>The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders will play their first home game of the season on May 31.<\/p>\n<p>The Dock Spiders currently have season tickets and ticket packages available at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/fond-du-lac-dock-spiders\/tickets\/season-tickets\/\">www.dockspiders.com<\/a>. Groups of 20 or more are able to book group outings for the upcoming season by calling the ticket office at 920-907-9833.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. Having completed its\u2019 27th season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 22 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, over 230 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist (CHC) and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and MLB All-Star Jordan Zimmermann (DET). All league games are viewable live via the Northwoods League website.
