{"id":983,"date":"2017-06-23T22:01:51","date_gmt":"2017-06-24T03:01:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/fond-du-lac-dock-spiders\/?p=983"},"modified":"2017-06-24T13:00:21","modified_gmt":"2017-06-24T18:00:21","slug":"spiders-win-comeback-fashion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/fond-du-lac-dock-spiders\/2017\/06\/23\/spiders-win-comeback-fashion\/","title":{"rendered":"Spiders Win in Comeback Fashion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tFOND DU LAC, WI- The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (10-15) earned their 10th win of the season with a 6-5, come-from-behind victory over the Kalamazoo Growlers.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tScoring first, the Kalamazoo Growlers took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning on an RBI single from Michael Diffley. The lead lasted until the 4th inning when the Dock Spiders knotted the game up with a sacrifice fly off the bat of Joe Breaux.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAfter the 4th, the Growlers took over by scoring three runs in the 5th inning and chased the starter Jake Kostyshock out of the game. Kostyshock finished his outing allowing four runs and none of them were earned due to three Dock Spiders errors.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Growlers tacked on another run in the 7th to make it a 5-1 ballgame.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFondy wouldn&#39;t go away quietly. The bats were contained through the first six innings of the game, but they broke through in the 7th scoring four runs to tie the game. AJ Lewis delivered a sacrifice fly, Brandon Wulff hit a two-run single and Andrew Bullock drove in his team leading 17th RBI of the season to tie the game.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThomas Luevano pitched a scoreless top 8th inning. With the game tied headed to the bottom of the 8th, the new guy K.V. Edwards (Missouri) put the Dock Spiders ahead for good on a sacrifice fly.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWith a 6-5 lead, Jake Roehn (Ohio), also making his debut, closed the door in the 9th after allowing a lead off double to collect his first save of the year.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Spiders are back at home&nbsp;<span tabindex=\"0\">tomorrow<\/span>&nbsp;evening in game two of the series against the Kalamazoo Growlers.
