Booyah Swept Against Wisconsin Rapids
Wisconsin Rapids, WI – The Green Bay Booyah fell in game one of the double header with Wisconsin Rapids and it snowballed into game two as the Booyah fell 5-3 in game one and 6-3 in game two.
In game one, Chris Williams got the Booyah on the board in the second inning with a solo home run over the video board in right field. The home run was Williams second long ball of the season. Then, in the fourth with the Rafters up 3-1, Nick Kreutzer went opposite field for his third home run of the season, bringing in Jarrett Ford to tie up the game at three. The Booyah did not score a run from that point on.
On the mound, Dalton Wiggins went four innings, giving up three earned runs. Wiggins got a no decision on the day in his first start of the season with Green Bay. Out of the bullpen, Chandler Ingram only went a third of an inning, giving up one hit and an earned run and losing for the second time this season. Tanner Lane threw only two-thirds of an inning, giving up an unearned run. Bobby Dorta made his first appearance in a week out of the bullpen, going a single inning while allowing one earned run.
In game two, Nick Riggle pitched two innings while allowing five earned runs, picking up his fourth loss of the season. Out of the bullpen, Luke Wallner worked two scoreless innings, and lefties Jesse Philp and Will Saxton also worked two scoreless frames, with Philp picking up two strikeouts.
At the dish in the second game, Green Bay scored three runs in the sixth inning off of five walks and three hits. Blaise Maris was the only Booyah hitter to record a base knock in the inning, getting a single off of Cody Turner. In total, Maris finished 1-3 in game number two.
The second half of the season starts tomorrow in the Northwoods League, with Green Bay hosting Fond du Lac at 6:05 p.m. Lefty Tommy Miller makes his third start of the year, second against the Dock Spiders.
