Switch-hitting catcher and lanky hurler fortify roster
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. – The Green Bay Booyah have announced the signing of two Northwestern Wildcats for the 2020 season with catcher Stephen Hrustich and right-handed pitcher Jack Sauser.
A native of Lilburn, Georgia, Hrustich was beginning his first year with the Wildcats this spring. The 6’1” catcher and first baseman provided a big boost to Northwestern in the shortened season, hitting .417 during a three-game stint against South Carolina, and earning himself Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. The Wildcat possesses great skills behind the plate and will provide options for the Booyah as a switch hitter.
On the mound Green Bay welcomes another freshman in 6’6” hurler Jack Sauser. The right-hander dominated competition in his four outings with Northwestern this spring, allowing no runs over the course of his five innings pitched while striking out nine batters against just one walk. Sauser, a native of Bloomington, Illinois, had three strikeouts in his collegiate debut against Omaha.
