Homestand Finale Wednesday At Joannes Stadium

Tuesday night, the Bullfrogs avoided a losing streak with a critical 6-4 victory over La Crosse in their series opener. It was a pivotal win for the Bullfrogs as they near the midway point of the first half in the Northwoods League South Division.

The Bullfrogs kept pace with Lakeshore, who defeated Madison in a battle for first place last night to take over sole possession of first. The Bullfrogs victory pulled them even with La Crosse in third place, just one game back of the Mallards. The Woodchucks remain one-half game behind Green Bay and La Crosse following a rainout last night.

Garrett Harrison (St. Cloud State) turned in another stellar outing at home. Harrison went six strong innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts. Most importantly, Harrison walked just two Loggers on the night. He now is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA at home in two starts, striking out eleven while walking six.

Ethan Rosebeck (Pima CC) gets the start on Wednesday as he goes for his second win on the season. On the year, Rosebeck is 1-0 with a 3.27 ERA in two starts. He has a win versus Kenosha and a no-decision against Kalamazoo. Rosebeck has pitched at least five innings and has not allowed more than two earned runs in each of his starts this season.

The Loggers will be searching for their first win in four tries against Green Bay, countering with Adam Cline (Columbia) on the mound. Cline will be making his first start this season after one relief appearance against Kenosha on June 6th. Cline threw 2.1 scoreless innings picking up the win, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out one.

The Bullfrogs will be looking for the sweep to pull ahead of La Crosse in the standings. A win would also guarantee ground gained on either Lakeshore or Madison, as they play against each other tonight. The Bullfrogs currently sit two games back of Lakeshore for first place.

Tonight is Summertime St. Patty’s at Joannes Stadium. The Bullfrogs will be wearing their green alternates and the bases will be spray-painted green for the game. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
