Cellcom Strikes Big with K’s for a Cause

The Green Bullfrogs continued to make an impact in the local community in 2017, partnering with Cellcom, to come together for a great cause. For the second consecutive season, Cellcom and the Bullfrogs unveiled the K’s for a Cause program. This season’s beneficiary was the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  MDA’s fundraising coordinator Murphy Maes said the following, “We are so grateful for the year round support of the Green Bay Bullfrogs and Cellcom. Because of sponsors like you, MDA is able to help kids and adults living in Green Bay live longer and grow stronger.” For each strike out at a home game by a Bullfrogs pitcher, ten dollars was donated to MDA. In total, Cellcom and the Bullfrogs raised $2,890 over the course of 36 home games.

“Green Bay Bullfrogs games are a great summertime activity for families in our community and Cellcom is proud to be an ongoing supporter of the team. K’s for a Cause is a fun way for us to celebrate the team’s success throughout the regular season and watch the donations add up for a great local non-profit,” said Brighid Riordan, director of public affairs and customer experience initiatives for Cellcom.

In addition to the K’s for a Cause program, Cellcom sponsored an alternate jersey that the Bullfrogs wore for both alternating home and road games during the 2017 season. The jersey was designed by a local student through the Boys and Girls Club after school program. At the end of the season, these jerseys were auctioned off to fans. In total, the jersey auction raised $370. All proceeds went to the Boys and Girls Club.

The Bullfrogs raised an additional $17,000 for area charities in 2017. In addition, the Bullfrogs made over 600 charitable donations to the community and continued growing its reading program, which 25 local schools participated in. Jeremiah, the Bullfrogs staff, and Bullfrogs players combined to make over 250 community appearances.

The Bullfrogs will continue to invest in the community. For any charitable or donation requests please email
