Through its Share the Glove initiative, the Northwoods League Foundation will award $2500 in baseball or softball equipment to one youth organization in each of its 22 markets<\/em><\/p>\n

Ashwaubenon, Wis \u00a0\u2013 The Northwoods League Foundation will be awarding more than $55,000 in youth baseball and softball equipment through 22\u00a0Share the Glove<\/em>\u00a0grants to be awarded this Spring. Each grant, with an approximate retail value of $2500, will include two sets of catcher\u2019s gear, ten gloves, eight batting helmets, six bats and one bucket of practice balls.<\/p>\n

Eleven baseball grants and eleven softball grants will be awarded across the Northwoods League footprint to eligible youth organizations. Northwoods League affiliate teams will be coordinating the application process within their respective communities throughout the Spring, with the baseball and softball grants being allocated as follows:<\/p>\n

From the applications collected, the Northwoods League Foundation will select one (1) recipient in each community.\u00a0 Organizations must meet the applicable criteria, which includes compliance with IRS 501(c)(3) guidelines. The Northwoods League Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that serves as a vehicle to transform a shared passion for baseball into positive change and support for communities. The Mission of the Northwoods League Foundation is to utilize the game of baseball to enrich the quality of life for children and families with an enduring and caring focus on Northwoods League communities.<\/p>\n

Share the Glove<\/em>\u00a0was introduced in 2018 as part of the Northwoods League\u2019s 25th\u00a0<\/sup>Season Celebration. \u201cWe were thrilled at the community response to this initiative last season,\u201d said Gary Hoover, Northwoods League Foundation Secretary. \u00a0\u201cShare the Glove<\/em>\u00a0embodies not only the mission of the Northwoods League Foundation, but the spirit of the League and its Affiliates. We look forward to further inspiring participation in, and a love for, the games of baseball and softball throughout our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Green Bay Booyah open up the season on Tuesday, May 28th at 7:05 in Traverse City, Michigan. Capital Credit Union Park will host the first Booyah home game against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters on Saturday June 1st at 7:05.<\/p>\n
