Eighty-Four NWL Alumni Make MLB Spring Breakout Rosters<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

The Houston Astros lead the way with seven former Northwoods League players<\/i><\/p>\n

Rochester, Minn. \u2013 Spring Training is in full swing, and the third annual MLB Spring Breakout series began on March 19 and runs through March 22. Eighty-four Northwoods League alums have been selected to compete in this event, a significant increase from last year\u2019s total of fifty-nine players.<\/p>\n

The Northwoods League alumni are headlined by JJ Wetherholt (MLB\u2019s #5 overall prospect) and Charlie Condon (MLB\u2019s #70 overall prospect). The Houston Astros have the most Northwoods League alumni represented, with seven alumni on their roster. This event includes hundreds of the best prospects in Major League Baseball, showcasing the future stars of the game. The Northwoods League experienced a League record 39 alums who made their Major League debut in 2025, with 11 of them participating in the 2025 Spring Breakout.
