Dawson spent last summer serving as the bench coach alongside Josh Merril, field manager; Kevin Cave, pitching coach; and JR McElroy, hitting coach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dawson has been the head coach at McPherson College for the past four seasons. Prior to becoming head coach, he served as an assistant for the Bulldogs and spent time as the head coach at Southwestern College. Dawson also brings a wealth of knowledge from his playing career.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He spent his freshman season at Hesston College before transferring to Tabor College in 2010. Dawson wrapped up his collegiate career at Central Christian College of Kansas, located just down the road from his hometown of Wichita, Kansas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Bulldogs have made two NAIA Opening Round appearances during his coaching career. They have also been ranked top 25 in the NAIA multiple times. His success in school ball coaching isn\u2019t all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dawson played a key role in the Rockers&#8217; 2025 championship season. Alongside the rest of the coaching staff, he managed the Northwoods League All-Star Game in Madison after Green Bay earned the first-half title. He helped guide the Rockers to the playoffs and ultimately to their second championship in three seasons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Rockers return home after the All-Star break on July 10. They will host the Minnesota Mud Puppies in game one of a two-game set, slated for a 6:35 start. Having completed its\u2019 32<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nd<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in history with 26 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff, nearly 2400 NWL alums have been drafted and over 410 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and two-time World Series Champi<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">on Max Scherzer (TOR), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford and World Series Champion and Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale (ATL).
