Two Baylor Bears Become Growlers

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Both of the new players for the Kalamazoo Growlers come from Baylor University. Freshmen Bears Hunter Seay and Luke Boyd are the latest signings presented by the OnStaff Group Recruiting Trail.

OF | Hunter Seay | 6’0” | L/L | Freshman | Keller, Texas

Hunter Seay is a graduate of Keller High School in Texas. He was ranked as the 28th overall player in the state of Texas and 7 th best outfielder. While in High School Seay was a four-time all-district selection and helped his team win a district title his junior year. He was also a 2016 Rawlings/Perfect Game Honorable Mention All American and a first-team All-Texas Region Senior. In 2015 he won the district offensive player of the year and in 2014 Seay captured Perfect Game Underclass Honorable Mention.

RHP | Luke Boyd | 6’3” | R/R | Freshman | Ojai, California

Luke Boyd is a graduate of Nordhoff High School in California. He pitched 56 innings in 2016 and struck out 99 batters. He also threw eight complete games his senior year. Boyd also posted a 2.20 ERA. At the plate in high school he smashed 18 doubles and one home run.
