Kalamazoo\u2019s centerfielder would finish 3 for 4 on the day, while making three miraculous diving catches to rob Bullfrog singles.<\/p>\n<p>The three runs in the first turned out to be all the Growlers needed, as starter Connor Adams pitched five shutout innings earning his first win of the season. While Green Bay\u2019s Justin Bureau couldn\u2019t figure out the Growlers in his first start of the season. Bureau allowed 10 hits in 5.2 IP, and allowed all five Growler runs while picking up the loss.<\/p>\n<p>The Bullfrogs would chip into the lead with two runs off of Growlers reliever Tommy Sommer in the sixth and seventh innings, making it a save situation in the ninth for Growlers reliever Andrew O\u2019Dwyer. O\u2019Dwyer breezed through the ninth, facing four batters while allowing no runs to get his first save of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Kalamazoo also had great performances from Donovan Clark and Brendan Rivoli. Clark, given the nickname \u2018Mr. Steal Yo Base\u2019, finished 2 for 5 on the day out of the leadoff spot. Rivoli, along with a nice day behind the plate, finished 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.<\/p>\n<p>The win for Kalamazoo sets the franchise record for consecutive wins with eight, passing the seven-game mark set in the 2016 season. \u00a0The win also finished off a perfect road-trip for Kalamazoo, who picked up two wins in Mequon versus Lakeshore, and two in Green Bay vs the Bullfrogs.<\/p>\n<p>Kalamazoo will now return home for the most important four-game stretch of the season with two contests against the Kingfish and two crucial games against the division leading Madison Mallards.<\/p>\n<p>The Growlers (16-6) return to Homer Stryker Field to battle the Kenosha Kingfish (7-14) with first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm.<\/p>\n<article id=\"post-12324\" class=\"post-12324 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-game-recaps category-permanentslider category-team-news\">###<em>The Kalamazoo Growlers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League.
