MADISON, Wi. \u2013 The Madison Mallards scored eight unanswered runs including three in the bottom of the ninth for a come from behind win on Monday against the Kalamazoo Growlers in 11 innings to win 8-7.<\/p>\n

Jesse Forestell delivered the walk-off hit in the bottom of the 11th<\/sup> inning to win the game for the Mallards scoring Nick Gile from second.<\/p>\n

Kalamazoo started quickly with two runs in the first inning on an error by David Vinsky to score Ivan Johnson. Jason Sullivan made the score 2-0 when he scored on a Zach Daniels sac fly.<\/p>\n

The Growlers added two more runs in the third inning on an RBI double from Niko Kavadas and a Daniels single.<\/p>\n

It was the fifth inning that seemed to open things up for the Growlers scoring three runs in the frame to make the score 7-0. Dylan Shockley delivered the big hit with a 2-RBI single to center field.<\/p>\n

But the bottom of the fifth turned the tide for the Mallards where the scored 4 runs on three walks, a hit-by-pitch and two hits.<\/p>\n

The Growlers held the lead, thanks to 3.1 innings of scoreless innings on the mound from Luke Boyd, until the ninth inning.<\/p>\n

The inning began for the Mallards with two walks and a two straight balls to a third batter from Jarret Smetana on the mound. Brennan Cox came in and got two outs but allowed two walks and two hits for the Mallards to tie the game.<\/p>\n

After a scoreless tenth from both teams, the Growlers could not capitalize with runners on first and third in the 11th<\/sup>. The home half of the 11th<\/sup> made way for the Mallards and Forestell to walk off for the second time this week.<\/p>\n

The Growlers will have a day off for the MLB Dreams Showcase on Tuesday before returning to action again on Wednesday against the Mallards.<\/p>\n
