The Mac Daddies and Growlers\u2019 split the two games on Thursday evening with the Mac Daddies picking up a 0-2 win in game one and the Growlers\u2019 coming back with a 6-4 victory in game two.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n GAME ONE: Kalamazoo Growlers 0 – 2 Kalamazoo Mac Daddies<\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Starting on the mound for the Mac Daddies was <\/span>Travis Snyder (St. Clair College)<\/b> who pitched for four innings. His time on the bump saw him sit down two batters and collect the win. The game was finished out by <\/span>James Krick (Hillsdale College) <\/b>who picked up the save and the combined shut out. The pitching duo also held the Growlers to only two hits during the game.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The MacDaddies offense combined for a total of seven hits with<\/span> Kyle Askworth (Cal Poly) <\/b>leading the way with two. The Northwestern University duo, <\/span>Vince Bianchina <\/b>and <\/span>Ethan O\u2019Donnell <\/b>batted in both of the MacDaddies two runs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Growlers\u2019 <\/span>Nate Wargolet (Grand Valley State University)<\/b> picked up the loss after pitching 2.1 innings. <\/span>Rickey Clark (Davenport University)<\/b> and <\/span>Alex Lord (Davenport University) <\/b>also appeared on the mound for the Growlers, holding the Mac Daddies to two hits.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n GAME TWO: Kalamazoo Growlers 6 – 4 Kalamazoo Mac Daddies<\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Both offenses started to find their rhythm in the second game of the doubleheader with <\/span>Ryan Mara (Brown University)<\/b> showcasing his power with a moonshot over the right field Bell\u2019s Bear Cave in the 5th inning. The home run, secured the Growlers\u2019 victory after two additional runs were scored via the bat of <\/span>Bret Barrera<\/b> (Stanford\u00a0 University)<\/b> earlier in the first and third innings.<\/span> Blake Dunn (Western Michigan University)<\/b> also scored on a wild pitch in the fifth inning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Mac Daddies\u2019 <\/span>Blake Bean (Kalamazoo College) <\/b>and <\/span>Ethan O\u2019Donnell (Northwestern University) <\/b>both picked up RBI\u2019s during the game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Both teams used a variety of pitchers in the game, <\/span>Matt Defay (Kellogg Community College) <\/b>picked up the loss after replacing <\/span>Western Michigan University’s Jack Huisman<\/b> in fourth inning. The Growlers\u2019 <\/span>Will Mullen (Western Michigan University) <\/b>picked up the win for his team after replacing <\/span>Grant Jebbia (Davenport University) <\/b>in the third.
