The Growlers picked up 5 runs in the first two innings of the contest off of just one hit. <strong>Mason Meeks<\/strong> (Drury University) tossed 5 no-hit innings before finishing his outing after 6.2 IP, 2 ER, 4 K&#8217;s and just 1 walk surrendered.<\/p>\n<p>The Growlers sprinkled in 3 runs across the later innings, highlighted by the debut performance of <strong>Connor Charping<\/strong> (Western Michigan), who finished the night 2-3 at the plate with a double and an RBI, as well as two runners caught stealing defensively.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The KZoo boys take on Kokomo again tomorrow before heading up to Fond Du Lac for a two-game stand with the Dock Spiders.<\/p>\n<p>The Growlers hold onto their two-game lead over the rest of the division chase pack with just seven games to play in the first half!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">###<\/p>\n<p><i>The Kalamazoo Growlers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, over 250 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and MLB Gold Glove finalist and 2019 Second Team All-MLB shortstop Marcus Semien (TOR).
