Brett spent the 2020 and 2021 Northwoods League season in a Kalamazoo uniform and posted a career .259 batting average throughout 95 games for the Growlers. \u00a0Barrera has spent the past three years of his college career at Pac-12 powerhouse Stanford, winning a conference championship for the Cardinal during his time there.\u00a0The New York Yankees selected Barrera with their 8th-round pick that was the 25oth overall. Brett joins a long list now of former Growlers that have been drafted into the ranks of professional baseball with hopes of gracing an MLB field one day soon.<\/p>\n<p>Along with Barrera, 2022 Growler catcher Connor Charping signed a free agent deal with the Seattle Mariners. Charping, who spent his college career at Western Michigan, \u00a0hit .400 in nine games with the Growlers logging 10 RBI and 5 stolen bases in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Dakota Kotowski, a member of the Growlers 2019 playoff team, also signed a post draft free agent deal with the Philidelphia Phillies.
