\n\tHere is a weekend recap for April 11-13 for all the current Kalamazoo Growlers players in their resepective collegiate season:\n<\/p>\n

Brett Sunde<\/p><\/div><\/a>Brett Sunde (C-Western Michigan)<\/strong> – Sunde totaled five hits in 13 at-bats scoring two runs on the weekend vs. Buffalo as the Broncos were swept on the road in a three game series. Sunde is currently hitting .319 (2nd on the team) with 24 RBI in 31 games.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tJared Kujawa (RF-Western Michigan)<\/strong> – Kujawa went 3-for-11 with two extra-base hits, totaling 6 RBI as he reached base six times over the three game series. On Friday, Kujawa gave the Broncos a one run lead in the bottom of the eighth inning with a double that scored two. Kujawa is batting .292 in 2014 with 2 HR and 28 RBI through 31 games. He also leads the Broncos with a .500 SLG% <\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRyan Smoyer (P-Notre Dame)<\/strong> – Smoyer did not pitch in any of the Irish's three games vs. Boston College over the weekend. In 2014, Smoyer has totaled a 8.10 ERA in 10 innings.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tKyle <\/strong>Rubb<\/strong>inaccio (P-Notre Dame)<\/strong> – Rubbinaccio also did not pitch over the weekend for the Irish. Rubbinaccio <\/span>has only pitched four innings in 2014, as he recovers from Tommy John surgery in 2013.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRyan Lidge (C-Notre Dame)<\/strong> – Lidge started the first game of the series vs. Boston College, going 0-for-4 with 2 strikeouts. He entered Saturday's game in the top of the eighth inning as a defensive replacement. Lidge is batting .250 through 64 at-bats in 2014.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tJohn Rubino (SS-Eastern Michigan)<\/strong> – Rubino started all three games vs. Northern Illinois, going 2-for-12 with one RBI and one run scored. Rubino is currently batting .295 with 26 RBI through 33 games in 2014.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDevon Bronson (P-Eastern Michigan)<\/strong> – Bronson entered Friday's game out of the bullpen and pitched 1 2\/3 innings, allowing 4 hits, 4 earned runs, 2 walks, 1 strikeout and 3 wild pitches. Bronson didn't see any action during Eastern Michigan's games on Saturday and Sunday vs. Northern Illinois. \n<\/p>\n

\n\tRyan Bull (RF-Notre Dame)<\/strong> – Bull entered Friday's game vs. Boston College as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and remained in the game as the designated hitter for the Irish. Bull went 0-for-2 in his only two plate apperances on the weekend. He is currently batting .197 through 66 at-bats in 2014.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

Austin Cangelosi<\/p><\/div><\/a>Austin Cangelosi (3B-Indiana)<\/strong> – Cangelosi went 3-for-8 with one RBI and two runs scored against Morehead State. Cangelosi entered both Friday and Saturday's games in the bottom of the sixth as a pinch hitter and then taking over at second base. He is currently batting .280 through 25 at-bats in 2014. Austin Cangelosi is the son of 13-year MLB veteran (Pirates, Marlins, Astros, White Sox, Rangers, Rockies) John Cangelosi.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tKent Williams (P-Indiana)<\/strong> – Williams didn't pitch over the weekend against Morehead State in the three game series. WIlliams redshirted in 2013 and has only appeared in 2 innings of relief in 2014.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMichael Robards (P-San Diego State)<\/strong> – Robards appeared in only one game over the weekend against Nevada. He threw 3 1\/3 innings out of the bullpen for the Aztecs, allowing 8 hits, 3 runs (2 earned) and striking out two. Robards has a 4.99 ERA over 48 2\/3 innings (8 starts) in 2014.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tJoshua Buchalski (P-Michigan State)<\/strong> – Buchalski did not pitch over the weekend against Purdue. After redshirting in 2013, Buchalski hasn't allowed a run in 3 innings of work in 2014.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRyan Spaulding (2B-Ball State)<\/strong> – Spaulding had a monster weekend as he started the final two games of the series against Toledo at second base, going 4-for-6 with 2 homeruns, one double, 5 RBI, 6 runs scored and 5 walks. Spaulding is batting .313 in 2014 with 4 homers and 22 RBI through 34 games (33 started) in 2014.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTroy Montgomery (CF-Ohio State)<\/strong> – Montgomery started two of the three games against Penn State, going 2-for-10 with a triple, one RBI, 2 runs scored and 3 strikeouts. He is currently batting .235 through 29 games in 2014.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tJacob Post (P-Ohio State)<\/strong> – Post started Sunday's game vs. Penn State throwing 5 innings, allowing 11 hits, 5 earned runs while striking out three and walking one as the Buckeyes knocked off the Nittany Lions, 12-6. Post has compiled a 3.60 ERA through 40 innings (5 starts) in 2014.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

Cody Leichman<\/p><\/div><\/a>Cody Leichman (1B-Central Michigan)<\/strong> – Similar to Spaulding, Leichman was on fire over the weekend against Bowling Green. Starting all three games of the series at first base, he went 7-for-13 with a home run, a double, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Leichman has been on an absolute tear all year. His current slash line is .357\/.423\/.548 with 4 homeruns and 36 RBI through 35 games (34 started) in 2014.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tJake Baldwin (P-Ashland) <\/strong>– Baldwin did not pitch for the Eagles over the weekend. In 3 starts spanning 18 total innings this year, Baldwin has compiled a 3.50 ERA with 25 strikeouts. Baldwin twirled an 8 inning, 4-hit shutout against Lewis University earlier this year. He had 12 strikeouts in that contest.\n<\/p>\n

Grant Van Putten<\/p><\/div><\/a>Grant Van Putten (OF-Calvin College)<\/strong> – Van Putten started and batted leadoff in both games of Calvin College's doubleheader with Albion College. In the first game, Van Putten went 1-3 with a stolen base and scored the game's only run as Calvin won 1-0. In the nightcap, Van Putten's stat line was similar, 1-4 with a stolen base and run scored – but the story behind that run and steal is much more dramatic. With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 9th, Van Putten stole home plate – one of baseball's rarest plays – to make Calvin walk-off winners. The play received national news attention, including appearing on MLB.com<\/a>.
