CITY OF KALAMAZOO APPROVES TWO FAN EXPERIENCE UPGRADES AT HOMER STRYKER FIELD<\/span><\/h1><\/h1><\/div>

New traditonal stadium-style seats and extended foul ball netting to be added.<\/span><\/h4>\n

[KALAMAZOO, MI] – Community members<\/span> and Kalamazoo Growlers fans will enjoy two major upgrades to Homer Stryker Field ahead of Opening Day on Monday, May 25, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

During its February 3 meeting, City Commissioners approved the purchase of new protective netting and the replacement of 1,028 seats. These updates ensure Homer Stryker Field remains compliant with modern safety and accessibility standards while enhancing the overall fan experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Growlers are incredibly thankful for the City of Kalamazoo\u2019s commitment to these updates and the Kalamazoo Parks & Recreation team are incredible to work alongside,\u201d Team Owner Brian Colopy Said. \u201cThis is our home and it\u2019s going to look even more beautiful come Opening Day. These investments prioritize the safety and comfort of our residents and baseball fans for years to come.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The new foul ball netting will extend significantly beyond its current location at the dugout edges, adding 178 feet of coverage down the first-base line and 260 feet down the right-field line.<\/span><\/p>\n

The netting height will vary to maximize protection:<\/span><\/p>\n
