Mallards starting pitcher Christian Taugner (Brown University) pitched five innings, only allowing one hit in the victory. Brett Sunde (Western Michigan) knocked in the first RBI in Growler franchise history, scoring Grant VanPutten in the late innings as the Growlers tacked on two runs&nbsp;in the top of the&nbsp;seventh.&nbsp;Caleb Barager (Jackson College) took the loss for Kalamazoo.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn the doubleheader finale, John Rubino&#039;s (Eastern Michigan) three run double cleared the bases en route to a six run second inning for the Growlers and they went on to beat Madison 6-5 to earn their first win in&nbsp;team history. &nbsp;Donnie Eaton (University of Michigan) earned the win&nbsp; by going two strong innings allowing just one hit&nbsp;and striking out two Mallards batters. Ryan Smoyer (Notre Dame) picked up the save by&nbsp;shutting the door on the Mallards in the bottom of the 7th inning. Smoyer pitched two stellar innings giving up just two runs on one hit and striking out three.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Growlers are back in action on Thursday night as they visit Battle Creek to take on the Bombers.
