\n\tKenosha, Wis. —The Kenosha Kingfish are pleased to announce a partnership with AM 1400 WRJN to serve as the home of Kingfish Baseball for the 2014 season. WRJN will broadcast 67 Kingfish games during the inaugural season. The partnership will launch with Northwoods League opening day on May 27<\/span>, just days before the Kingfish home opener on Saturday, May 31<\/span> at historic Simmons Field.  \n<\/p>\n

\n\tKenosha Kingfish General Manager, Jake McGhee, has made several appearances on WRJN over the last few months and is excited about the opportunity to broadcast Kingfish games on air this summer. “It has been a great relationship with the entire WRJN team from the very start and we are thrilled to have them as our radio partner for our inaugural 2014 season," McGhee said. "We are excited Kingfish fans will have the opportunity to listen to every road game locally and tune in when they are unable to make it to the ballpark."\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBased in Racine, Wisconsin, AM 1400 WRJN also broadcasts for the Wisconsin Badgers, University of Wisconsin – Parkside Rangers,Racine Raiders, and local area high school sports teams. WRJN is in its 87th year, earning a spot as one of the nation’s longest running radio stations. The station extends coverage in the greater Kenosha and Racine areas and General Manager, Chris Moreau, is excited to have local baseball on air. “We are thrilled to be carrying the entire season of Kenosha Kingfish games. This is an opportunity to highlight a great sports and entertainment venue for families right in our own backyard,” Moreau said. “Baseball is the soundtrack of summer and WRJN is pleased to provide it.”\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Kingfish will host their season opener against the Mankato MoonDogs on Saturday, May 31<\/span> at 6:05 pm<\/span> at Kenosha’s Historic Simmons Field. Playing its 21<\/em>st<\/sup><\/em> season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball l<\/em>eague in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced<\/em> to Major League Baseball, including MLB All-Stars Max Scherzer (DET), Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYY), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
