\n\tWausau, Wis. – The Kingfish came into tonight’s game with a mission to win, after stranding 15 on base last night.  They began early and were able to hold off the Woodchucks to win 7-2, and split the series.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter the first inning the Kingfish already had a lead of 3-0. Taylor Douglas hit a lead-off single followed by a walk from Alex Borglin. Pat Porter struck out to bring up Alex Dunlap with one out and he delivered his sixth double and tenth RBI. Zach Ratcliff then smashed a single past the first basemen to score both Borglin and Dunlap.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the second inning, Kyle Brooks kept things rolling and hit a lead-off double while Spencer Gaa would be walked to get runners at first and second. Taylor Douglas hit a sacrifice fly and Borglin grounded out, to score Brooks and make it 4-0. Dunlap would get his second single of the night and add a RBI to score Gaa.  \n<\/p>\n

\n\tDuffy Dyer’s team was not done just yet as they scored once more in the third, thanks to Brooks and his first home run of the season, sailing over the left field wall with two outs to make it 6-0.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTrevor Haas started the game for the Kingfish and went five impressive innings, giving up only five hits, one run, and two strikeouts. He also stranded seven Woodchucks on the bases including leaving the bases loaded in the second inning.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Woodchucks would start a comeback, starting in the fifth inning against the starter Haas, but could only produce one run. They would score another in the seventh on an error by Borglin but were held to only two runs on the night.  \n<\/p>\n

\n\tPaul Schuster came in and delivered eight strikeouts, picking up the save on three and one third innings pitched. Concluding this series, the Kingfish have a record of 23-21 overall and 7-5 in the second half.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Kingfish continue to La Crosse tomorrow for a series and then travel to Battle Creek. King Elvis’ crew will return to Simmons Field on Thursday, July 17th<\/sup> for Snap-on Sockets “What If” Night.\n<\/p>\n
