\n\tKenosha, Wis. – The Kenosha community welcomed the Kingfish back to Simmons Field after almost a full week on the road.  The Kingfish faced the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters for the first time at home this season but could not come out on top.  The game had extra inning excitement, but the Kingfish fell 8-6.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe game began with Kenosha starter Trevor Haas running the bases loaded but keeping the damage to only one run. He was aided by a great defensive play from Alex Borglin at third base. Haas then settled in and lasted until the sixth when Dillon Mazzoccoli arrived in relief. P.J Schuster cruised through the Rafter order in the eighth and ninth, striking out three.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBoth teams scored respectively in the second inning. Kyle Brooks hit an RBI double that drove in Zach Ratcliff for the first Kingfish run. King Elvis’ crew kept things rolling into the third inning with a Pat Porter triple that scored Taylor Douglas, giving Kenosha a 2-1 lead.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Rafters did not make things easy, however, answering in the fourth with a home run. They would also add two more runs in the sixth and another pair in the seventh to jump ahead 6-2.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe seventh would once again display the Kingfish perseverance though, beginning with Steven Sensley and Kyle Brooks reaching base. Taylor Douglas then laid down a suicide squeeze bunt to push Sensley across. With players on the corner and two outs, Porter came up and was hit by the pitch to load the bases. Alex Dunlap then came up and clobbered a 3 RBI triple to tie the game at 6.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe teams were evenly matched for the rest of regulation, resulting in a need for extra innings. The Rafters drew first blood in the tenth, taking an 8-6 lead to seal the victory.   \n<\/p>\n

\n\tFriday, July 18th<\/sup> will be Lee Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric Twins Turn Back the Clock Night. The business will also sponsor Cancer Awareness Night. Kingfish players will remember the past teams of Simmons Field and wear pink Kenosha Twins jerseys. They will wear throwback Twins hats, use pink bats, and auction off the game-worn jerseys. Proceeds from the sale of Kenosha Twins merchandise will go to the United for a Cure Foundation. Both Friday and Saturday night will also include post-game fireworks courtesy of Miller Lite.\n<\/p>\n
